In order to successfully complete the “International Baccalaureate” programme during grades 12 and 13, pupils are required to also participate in the “CAS” programme.
Pupils participating in the IB programme must show performance advances within the field of personality development. CAS is considered as the heart of the entire IB programme.
Performances in school (e.g. participation in working groups, cooperation in the sports association among other things) and outside school (sport associations, social mechanisms among other things) are possible.
The individual achievements must contain a certain quality (e.g. participation in an out of hours program "with special success"), in order to be recognized.
Each achievement must be documented accurately. For achievements within the out of school range a contact address and the written confirmation must be given to the project supervisor. Since it concerns an experience increase, the pupil should write a small reflection in each case. In addition a CAS questionnaire with eight reflection questions will be submitted.
Throughout years 12 and 13 a minimum of 150 hours within the three required fields must be completed. Each field must have at least 50 hours allocated to it.
